There have been some developments in regard to the issue of PlayDRM authentication that was previously announced.

It has been confirmed that installing the Windows Update "KB5050009," which was released January 14th 2025, will cause PlayDRM authentication to cease functioning normally.
It has also been confirmed that, as previously announced, uninstalling "KB5050009" will resolve that problem.
However, "KB5050009" is an important Windows Update for the security of the operating system. We thus advise that users exercise caution, and make the decision to uninstall based on their own research, judgement, and with self-responsibility.
